ASTRONOMY 301 - Introduction to Astronomy

Fall 2001

Final update: December 13, 2001

Classes: TTh 2 PM - 3:30 PM Welch 3.502
Instructor: John Kormendy
Office: RLM 15.324
Office Hours: After class or by appointment
Office Telephone: 471-8191

The final conversion from numerical to letter grade was as follows:

 A = 84 % or more (42 students)
 B = 74 - 83 % (48 students)
 C = 59 - 73 % (47 students)
 D = 44 - 58 % (6 students)
 CR = 44 - 100 % (8 students)
 F = less than 44 % (4 students)

As a class, you did very well. There are far more As and Bs than the University expects when it says that B means "above average". In fact, the average grade in the course is B, not C. You should be proud of your work. I am, and I wish you all well in the future.
